Enzo Fernandez wants to join Chelsea before the winter market shuts tomorrow night.

O Jogo says the Argentina World Cup winner will remain on the margins over the next 48 hours, but is hoping Chelsea pay his buyout clause.

Benfica president Rui Costa and coach Roger Schmidt have made it clear they do not want to lose the midfielder this month. However, they'll have no choice should Chelsea meet Fernandez's 120m buyout clause.

Chelsea made an attempt earlier this month to meet the clause, but their offer of 80m cash plus players was dismissed by Rui Costa.

They're now returning with the intention to pay the full 120m, though there will still be negotiations needed as Chelsea must pay the fee in installments due to Financial Fair Play concerns.
