A 1-2 mark in strikeout props Tuesday night put a stain on our 3-0 sweep to start the week, but we'll take a 4-2 record through two days. Let's get back on the winning track with my three favorite K props for Wednesday's MLB slate.
Logan Webb hasn't been racking up a ton of strikeouts in recent weeks. The San Francisco Giants starter hasn't recorded more than six strikeouts in a game since the middle of July, and he's gone under 4.5 Ks in three of his last five starts. In three starts against the Arizona Diamondbacks this year, Webb has 13 strikeouts in 21 innings pitched. This is a toss-up at 4.5, so we might as well take the value on +112 with the under.
Everything is shaping up for a big night from Kevin Gausman. The Toronto Blue Jays starter leads the AL this season with 11.6 strikeouts per nine innings, and that number gets even better when he faces the New York Yankees. In two starts against the Yankees this year, Gausman has racked up 21 strikeouts over 14 innings pitched. New York is also struggling of late with a 29.7 percent strikeout rate and a .203 team batting average over the last two weeks. Take the over.
Reese Olson is on fire with 23 strikeouts and only four earned runs over his last four starts, but it won't be that easy Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers have the highest OPS (.836) and the most runs scored (84) over the last two weeks, so they have the ability to chase Olson early in this one. Olson has struggled against the top lineups in the league this season. Let's hope that continues here.
