Watch: Jalen Suggs almost hurts teammate with water bottle
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

The Orlando Magic are chaotically bad this season, and we got a glimpse of that chaos during Friday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In the first quarter, Magic guard Jalen Suggs, who was sitting on the team’s bench at the time, had a mishap. Having apparently forgotten all about the water bottle he left in front of him, Suggs rose from his seat on the bench. As he was doing so, Suggs accidentally kicked the bottle onto the court during live play, where it tripped up Orlando teammate Franz Wagner. The bottle then squirted away towards halfcourt where Wolves center Karl-Anthony Towns appeared to kick it away. The officials did not notice, and play continued throughout the whole sequence.

Take a look at the bizarre scene.

Suggs was just drafted last year, so maybe we can chalk up the lack of water bottle awareness to a rookie mistake. Still, Suggs is fortunate that his gaffe did not end up with a worse result. That could have led to a sprained ankle or a hard fall to the floor by a player on either team.

Though they are an NBA-worst 17-50 this year, the Magic have had some funny viral moments. But Friday’s moment was not among their finest.
